Louisville Leads Six Big East Teams at #2 in AP Poll: Mar 18th, 2013

A big six Big East teams land in this week's AP Top 25 poll. They are Louisville at #2, Georgetown (#8), Marquette (#15), Syracuse (#16), Pittsburgh (#20), and Notre Dame (#23).

Louisville moves up two spots in the poll following a week that began with a win on the road over Villanova, 74-55. After that came another win on the road against then-24th ranked Notre Dame, 69-57. Finally, they put up a third win on the road against then-19th ranked Syracuse, 78-61.

Georgetown moves down three places after a win against Cincinnati, 62-43 and a loss to then-19th ranked Syracuse, 58-55. Marquette moves down three spots after a loss to then-24th ranked Notre Dame, 73-65. Syracuse moves up three places after wins against then-5th ranked Georgetown, then-17th ranked Pittsburgh, 62-59, and Seton Hall, 75-63. Pittsburgh moves down three spots after a loss to then-19th ranked Syracuse.

Gonzaga hangs on to number one for the second straight week. Oregon breaks into the Top 25 at #25 with an overtime win on the road against Washington, 80-77, a win on the road over Utah, 64-45, and an upset win on the road over then-21st ranked UCLA, 78-69. Virginia Commonwealth falls out of the rankings this week with a win on the road over St. Joseph's (PA), 82-79, a win on the road over Massachusetts, 71-62, and a loss on the road to then-16th ranked Saint Louis, 62-56.
